 SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday – Friday; 8:30am-5:00pm, weekends and holidays as needed



The Senior Manager of Events will plan, manage and coordinate Pine Street Inn’s fundraising and donor cultivation events as a member of the Development and External Affairs Department. This position will create plans and execute events that strengthen the relationship between donors (individual or corporate) and Pine Street Inn. This position will have primary ownership of the execution of major fundraising and volunteering events at the Inn, and will work in close collaboration with other DEA leaders around the planning of all DEA events. The Senior Manager of Events will also work with other DEA leaders to plan new events aimed at developing existing donors and volunteers and attracting new prospects to the donor/volunteer pipeline.

The Senior Manager of Events will be dynamic, creative, flexible, and possessed of excellent communication and collaboration skills.



  •  Bachelor’s Degree
  •  Five (5) years of relevant special events experience in a non-profit environment
  •  Demonstrated track record of successful philanthropic event fundraising
  •  Experience managing the work of multiple vendors in preparation for events, from the bid process through post-event briefing
  •  Must possess creative planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  •  Self-motivated, multi-tasker, superior attention to detail
  •  Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  •  Ability to work in a changing and team environment
  •  Excellent project management and communication skills
  •  Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  •  Ability to sit for long periods of time
  •  Ability to utilize a PC, phone, fax and copier
  •  Ability to climb two flights of stairs
  •  Ability to travel to Pine Street Inn and Boston-area sites for meetings or trainings as required
  •  Ability to work early morning, evening, or weekend hours as needed for event preparation, event set-up, and breakdown
  •  Ability to work the entire duration of an event if needed
  •  Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, including availability to work Thanksgiving and Christmas
  •  Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. as related to events and/or in-kind donations
